What is the school's educational philosophy and approach?
We have designed our educational program for the way children truly learn.
We begin with prioritizing emotional safety and bonding, and then engage children through deep and exciting learning experiences.
We follow the VESS Curriculum – an international, brain-based educational model which combines the best and most research-based educational practices of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Project-Based Learning, Positiive Discipline, and Visible Thinking, amongst others, to bring children an educational experience that truly responds to how their brain learns and develops. Under the VESS Model, children not only develop a deep love for learning, but become proficient learners, active creators and deep thinkers.
Every single experience at Kinovu Schools is multi-sensory, hands-on, and positively-challenging, making school a place they won’t want to leave.
What Curriculum do you use?
We follow the VESS Curriculum, an innovative preschool curriculum created by our founders and grounded in brain-based research and emotional wellbeing. VESS nurtures confident, empathetic, creative, and curious learners through meaningful, hands-on experiences every day.
Recognized as one of the leading early childhood education approaches, the VESS Model is used in 153 preschool–12th grade schools worldwide and has earned international recognition, including:
- Education Leaders Award (Spain, 2019)
- Outstanding Leadership Award (USA, 2022)
- Endorsement by the University of Barcelona’s Institute of Neuroscience
Families searching for a high-quality preschool program in Florida often choose us because VESS provides a richer, more intentional learning experience than traditional curricula.
How is your school and preschool different (and better) from others?
Several aspects of our program makes it truly unique and ideal for children’s growth and development:
- Integration of the best aspects of multiple approaches: We combine the proven aspects of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Project-based, and other methods, and leave behind the unproven or outdated aspects, creating a unique program that truly responds to how a child best develops and learns.
- We are a No worksheets Preschool: VESS immerses children in hands-on experiences, sensory exploration, and real-world problem-solving every day. Diddos and worksheets are never present in our schools.
- Individualized learning plans: Unlike cookie-cutter curriculums that are sent to schools, at our schools each teacher lesson plans individually for her learners based on their interests and individualized needs.
We bring the world to the classroom: Our children explore a different Artist and Country every month through weekly cooking projects, daily sensory art, science experiments, special visits, and so much more – and they do so in two languages!
We nurture strong learners: Because VESS focuses on thinking skills, independence, emotional intelligence, creativity and communication, children don’t just memorize — they understand, make connections, and develop the confidence to express their ideas. This approach creates a joyful, engaging environment where learning feels natural and exciting.
You drop off and pick up in your child’s classroom and have multiple opportunities to get involved – Because we value daily communiction with your teacher and your right to come into the environment your child is in all day long. We also celebrate multiple community events throughout the year like our Family Fun Day, Art Museum Day, “Child-Led Conference Day”, and End of the Year Show.
You receive daily “What We Did Today” Reports through our communication app – not only about nap, meals, and diaper changes, but about the learning your child was involved in, every day
Free “Parent Night Out’s” happen twice every month – so that you can relax and recharge, leaving your little one happy and safe in our campus, under our teachers’ care
What are your child-to-teacher ratios?
We follow Florida’s ratios, but our VESS approach ensures more meaningful interactions and individualized attention than a traditional preschool setting, thanks to our intentional “small group work” approach.
What qualifications do your teachers have?
Our teachers are certified and trained professionals who receive over 50 hours of continuous education every year through our VESS Professional Development Program. They are specifically trained in neuro-education, emotional education, STEAM and mathematics development, Literacy development, and thinking skills development through the VESS Model, ensuring that quality standards are consistent across all centers.
How do you communicate with parents?
We are an Open Door Preschool and Open Door School, so you get to talk to your teacher face-to-face every day at drop off and pick up.
Our schools use Class Dojo and Procare apps for daily parent-teacher communication. Besides daily nap, diaper-change, and meal reports, you will receive daily “What We Did Today” reports with pictures and videos, highlighting your child’s learning journey. The school communicates via phone for matters that require your immediate attention.
